Ross is the author of two books on his experiences, “Predator: Life and Death in the African Bush” (Abrams, 2007) in which he shares his unparalleled knowledge (and phenomenal photographs), of the five great predators of the African bush: lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and crocodiles, and “Dangerous Beauty” (Talk Miramax Books, 2001), in which Ross describes encounters with danger – including being attacked by Rwandan rebels while leading a group searching for endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda - and overwhelming natural beauty in Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
