GREENSBURG, PA- John Fogle, Athletic Director at Seton Hill College, announced that Angela Delbrugge, the daughter of Scott and Lisa Delbrugge of Martins Ferry, OH, has accepted a cross-country scholarship. She will begin attending classes in the Fall 2001. “Angela is a very hard worker,” Fogle said. “She will be a valuable asset to the team.” A recent graduate from Martins Ferry High School, Delbrugge holds numerous awards as a swimmer including third place in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) as a sophomore, second place in the OVAC meet as a junior and senior in addition to qualifying and placing in the District Swim meet. On the cross-country team, she was a team state qualifier, was a member of the All-Academic Ohio team and won the OVAC and District meets. As a senior, she was named to All-OVAC, All-District and All-Academic Ohio for cross-country. In addition, her cross-country team was undefeated in league meets during her junior and senior years. In addition, they were the OVAC overall champions and received fourth place at the Regional Meet and 11th at the state meet during her senior year. As a student, Delbrugge served as class treasurer, president of the Spanish Club, president of the prom committee, cover girl for the Queen of Queens pageant, chaplain of the National Honors Society, the football and wrestling little sister and was a Fellowship of Christian Students and Athletes (FCSA) leader. In addition, she was a member of the Chy-Phy Honors Science Program, Student Council, theatre, chorus, the Sadie Hawkins Court, the Gifted and Talented and was the Homecoming Queen. “I wanted to attend a small Catholic school as a way of keeping my faith and being surrounded by others with similar interests,” Delbrugge said, who is planning on majoring in nutrition dietetics at Seton Hill. “I loved the campus when I came to visit. They had everything I wanted from the cross-country team to the program I was interested in. I felt comfortable at the campus and look forward to attending classes soon.”
