Seton Hill’s resident “horror professor,” Dr. Michael Arnzen, has had a busy few weeks celebrating Halloween and promoting his latest (Bram Stoker Award-winning) story collection, "Proverbs for Monsters." In early October he participated in an interview at WCBE (Ohio’s NPR station) on “The Business and Life of Writing Horror.” Also in October, he participated as a panel and workshop facilitator at the speculative fiction literature conference Context 21. A new journal, Transformative Works and Cultures, has recently published Arnzen’s article “The Unlearning: Horror and Transformative Theory.” And during the week of Halloween, Arnzen performed a fiction reading at Penn Highlands Community College in Johnstown, Pa., and served as a featured speaker at Zombie Fest 2008 in Monroeville, Pa., where he had the opportunity to network with 1,341 zombies.
