Wednesday, September 19
Visit with Residents (ages 16-21) at Clelian Heights (school and community for exceptional people)

Please let Fr. Stephen know if you are interested so he can reserve a van seat for you. Those going should meet at Fr. Stephen’s office (109 Lowe) at 6:15. We will visit for one hour, and return to campus by 8:30 PM. While this is an event sponsored by Campus Ministry, students in the Education Program may find this event especially suitable and moving. For more information contact Fr. Stephen Honeygosky, OSB, x4762 or honeygosky@setonhill.edu.

Tuesday, September 25
Visit to St. Vincent Archabbey for a mini-retreat (what some have called a busy-person’s retreat)

The evening includes prayer with the Benedict Monastic Community (lasting a half hour), supper there together in the guest dining room, brief time for personal reflection, and a brief talk afterwards by one of the monks. We will leave Seton Hill at 4:00 PM and return to SHU by 8:30 PM. Vespers is evening prayer which has been part of the Christian tradition since its beginnings. It is different from Sunday worship as it is not a Mass. It consists of a reading from Scripture, several sung psalms and a canticle, another short reading, and finally prayers for the world. If you’d like to experience a small slice of the monastic tradition, why not join us? Please let Fr. Stephen know so he can reserve vans and dinners (x4762 or honeygosky@setonhill.edu). We ask $2 to defray the cost of dinner and indicate your commitment to go.

Saturday, October 27
Bike trip at Ohio Pyle.

We’ll leave from the fire hydrant behind Lowe/Kitchen Area at 10:00 AM and return by 9:00 PM. The plan is to bike (or hike) at 11:30 from Ohio Pyle to Confluence, then have a little lunch at the River’s Edge Café (or enjoy the “brown bag” you’ve brought along), bike back, have Mass outside on the rocks, then head to supper at Brandy’s for an inexpensive good dinner ($7-10). Bike rental is $15 for the day unless you have a bike to bring along. If you’re interested please get in touch with Fr. Stephen (x4762 or honeygosky@setonhill.edu) so he can reserve bikes, vans, and tables for dinner.
