Seton Hill University’s National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education will present “Continuity and Discontinuity in the Passion Narratives,” a lecture by visiting scholar Rev. John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, professor of social ethics at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, on Sunday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Room 206 of the Administration Building on Seton Hill’s Greensburg, Pa. campus. The lecture and panel response is free and open to the public.

Rev. John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, PhD, is a professor of social ethics at Catholic Theological Union and directs the Catholic-Jewish Studies program in Catholic Theological Union’s Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Center. The author of more than fifteen books, including “The Challenge of the Holocaust for Christian Theology,” “Good and Evil After Auschwitz,” and “Ethics in the Shadow of the Holocaust,” he serves as the current president of the International Council of Christians and Jews and a former long-term member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council (where he is still active on several committees.) A cover story in the Chicago Jewish News referred to Pawlikowski as “the most well-connected Catholic to the Jewish community in the world.”

Serving on the panel will be Sister Gertrude Foley, S.C., executive director of Education and Spiritual Formation for the Diocese of Greensburg, Rev. Stephen Honeygoskey, O.S.B., chaplain, associate director of Campus Ministry and member of the Seton Hill English faculty, and Msgr. Roger Statnick, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Greensburg. Rabbi Sara Rae Perman, Congregation Emanu-el Israel, Greensburg, will moderate the panel.
