Seton Hill University announces the creation of four full-tuition scholarships to be awarded to outstanding scholars who are incoming freshmen in the traditional undergraduate program at Seton Hill. These scholarships are renewable for four years of study at Seton Hill and are valued at more than $100,000 each; students recognized will be known as Seton Scholars.

Four scholarships will be awarded annually, one in each of the following academic divisions based on the student’s selected major field of study: Humanities, Visual and Performing Arts, Natural and Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. (Students applying to Seton Hill with the intention of earning a degree in Education are required to declare an undergraduate major in one of these four academic divisions and are therefore eligible to compete for the Seton Scholarship in the division that offers the chosen major.)

“The new Seton Scholars Program indicates our ongoing commitment to academic excellence across the liberal arts curriculum, and to attracting, and supporting, students who are dedicated to outstanding scholarship in their field of study,” stated Barbara Hinkle, vice president for enrollment services at Seton Hill.

For the 2007 – 2008 academic year, students must complete an application and be accepted to Seton Hill prior to March 1, 2007 to be considered for the scholarships. Faculty in each division will review qualified candidates and select the scholarship recipients. Winners will be notified by March 9, 2007.
