Cory Weibel, Seton Hill’s graduate assistant for sports information (and former SHU baseball player) hosted the inaugural broadcast of Griffins Sports Weekly - now showing on YouTube – on October 22, 2007. The brainchild of Weibel and Sports Information Director Jason Greene, Griffins Sports Weekly will, according to Weibel, “talk about the past week’s sporting events, preview the week of sports ahead, interview a player and possibly a coach every week, and review the sports seasons that are coming up.”

The inaugural show features interviews with NCAA Compliance Coordinator Bruce Ivory and Griffins football defensive back Andrew DeMase.

Griffins fans can help chose who will be featured on the show by voting online for the Player of the Week. At the end of each broadcast, Weibel will announce Player of the Week nominees from each sport. The student athletes garnering the most votes will be featured in an upcoming show (schedules permitting.)

Weibel’s goal in creating Griffins Sports Weekly is to help raise on-campus awareness for all Seton Hill sports, and “especially for the sports that are not yet considered ‘successful’ but have very good athletes on their teams.”
