Who: Businesses and academic institutions participating include Seton Hill University, Pennatronics, Lucas Systems, IQ Inc., Bestborn, Exelos, Optimal Solutions and Technology, Data Science Automation, AllClad, JobSmart System, Levin Furniture, RiverHead Training, Argon ST, Lionce LLC, Clear Channel, Fay Penn Economic Development Council, SMC Business Councils, Westmoreland Fayette Workforce Investment Board, California University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State University, the Eberly Campus, Pennsylvania Institute of Health and Technology, and University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.

Background: Representatives from the business and academic sectors will be visiting Seton Hill University as part of an event hosted by the Business and Education Stakeholders in Technology Industry Partnership and Industry Collaborating with Education.

“The objective of the partnership is to build relationships between area businesses and academic institutions that will flourish, thereby filling internship and job openings with local talent and assisting academic institutions in highlighting local employment placement, and open possibilities for project work, that could be filled by students,” said Christopher Diaz, Ph.D., associate professor of computer science at Seton Hill University.

The Business and Education Stakeholders in Technology Industry Partnership and Industry Collaborating with Education was founded in 2007. It is a program that has developed through local and regional connections but maintains national importance.
