Seton Hill University’s Mobile Learning @ the Hill is pleased to announce that it has renewed status as an Apple Distinguished Program for the 2012-2013 school year for success in enhancing and extending teaching and learning with thoughtful and innovative implementations of technology.

This year Seton Hill joins 42 programs that Apple is renewing nationwide as exemplary learning environments. The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that integrate Apple technology in education and meet the five best practices: visionary leadership, innovative learning and teaching, ongoing professional learning compelling evidence of success and a flexible learning environment.

“Seton Hill is proud of this distinction and will continue to innovate and enhance the way we teach and learn with technology,” said Phil Komarny, vice president for Information Technology, CIO. “With the support of iPad, we have revolutionized the way we approach and manage IT. With a more transparent model that is based on a great user experience, the IT department received high marks from faculty, staff and student users as part of the recent customer satisfaction survey.”

The University’s mobile learning program, says President JoAnne Boyle, was conceived and is now implemented as a way to capture and keep the attention of students as they pursue studies in all disciplines.

“We continue to see energizing change in the way our faculty think about their courses, the way learning is evaluated and the way students are getting and staying involved,” she said.
