Greensburg, PA –The Mental Health Association in Westmoreland County will present a Community Mental Health Forum at Seton Hill on October 14, from 12:30 – 7:30. The forum will include a variety of workshops, lectures and panels targeted to mental health consumers, educators, medical providers & professionals as well as to employers.

Keynote speaker Wendy Williams earned a World Cup, five National Championships, an Olympic bronze medal and was a top contender for a gold medal at the 1992 Olympic games before a spinal injury forced her to retire three months before competing. Williams was forced at this time to fully acknowledge a depression that had plagued her for most of her life. "Depression can happen to anyone," says Williams. "The trick is to know the true meaning of mental strength – to know when you need help, to know that there are steps you can take that will lead to recovery, and to take those steps." Seton Hill athlete Joshua Sobota of Latrobe will introduce Williams.

Also at the Forum, Seton Hill Director of Development and Media Relations Molly Robb Shimko, who also serves as Board President for the Mental Health Association, will be honored with the Fred Funari Mental Health Association Award of Distinction for volunteer service.

The Community Mental Health Forum will be held in Cecilian Hall on Seton Hill’s campus. For more information on the Forum, or to register, please call 724-834-6351.
