Griffin track and field athletes Nicole Malara and Anthony Philips took part in the WVIAC Multi-Events championships this weekend at Glenville State.  After day one of the decathlon, Phillips stands in first place with 3,418 points.  He was first in the 100m (11.41), first in the long jump (6.53m), second in the shot put (11.60m) and third in the high jump (1.72m).  He also finished first in the 400m (50.29),  Malara currently sits in second place after day one with 2,242 points.  She finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (16.47), second in high jump (1.52m), 3rd in the shot put (9.80m) and 6th in the 200m (28.09).  Day two of the championships will be on Sunday.
