David P. Myron, CPA, former Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) executive, has been appointed Vice President for Finance, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Seton Hill University. The announcement was made by Mary C. Finger, Ed.D., President. Myron served in this role on an interim basis since October 2013.

“We are extremely pleased that David Myron will join Seton Hill’s administrative team beyond his interim appointment,” Finger said. “David has served Seton Hill well over the past seven months as the University embarked on major building projects simultaneously. David’s executive financial leadership in the nonprofit world will be a great asset to Seton Hill as we work to enhance the campus for our students.”

“I am excited to continue working with Trustees, Seton Hill’s administrative team, faculty and staff to carry on the outstanding work underway at the University, particularly the work related to two significant building projects, the JoAnne Woodyard Boyle Health Sciences Center and the Dance and Visual Arts Center,” said David Myron. “I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues on fostering an environment that ensures Seton Hill’s continuing success.”

Mr. Myron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and English from Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pa. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

During his 22-year career with RIDC, Myron served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer (CFO) with the RIDC. Myron directed and guided all accounting, audit, finance, tax, human resources, administration, and insurance functions for a portfolio valued at over $500 million with annual budgets of more than $50 million. Myron initiated and promoted technology throughout every aspect of the RIDC to improve efficiencies while enhancing customer service. He led the acquisition of more than $500 million in loans and $100 million in grants to assist in economic development projects that benefitted southwestern Pennsylvania.

Prior to his roles with RIDC, Myron served as an Audit Senior Manager for KPMG’s Pittsburgh Office. At KPMG, Myron worked with more than 20 clients annually from diversified industries with revenues up to $1 billion. He provided audit, tax, pension and consulting services and was active in firm management.

Myron is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) as well as a member of the National Association of Industrial Properties—Pittsburgh Chapter. Myron serves on the Allegheny Land Trust Board of Directors and is a recent Board chairman. In addition, he is a Board member of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association and the South Fayette Conservation Group.

Myron recently established the Seton Hill University Guardian Angel Endowed Fund to provide scholarships and other emergency financial assistance for students who demonstrate a pressing need.

“We are trying to make this a fund that will be able to meet the student needs – both financial and academic – so that they can continue their studies and be prepared for the world in which they are destined to live,” Myron said.
