GREENSBURG, PA - First-year Head Coach Marc Marizzaldi has announced the signings of ten more players for next year’s inaugural season of baseball at Seton Hill. Those players include IF/RHP Jerry Harness (Chartiers Valley HS), IF Joshua Pratt (Grove City HS), IF Jerome Dopkowski (Hempfield HS), catcher Paul Pentz (Johnstown Area HS), OF/LHP Rick Smykla (Baldwin HS), catcher Cory Weibel (Freeport HS), RHP Jim Bradley (Hempfield HS), OF Matt Musiak (Latrobe HS), IF Jamie Hemphill (Pine Richland HS), and RHP Dan Burkintas (Shaler HS).

Marizzaldi comments about his crop of recruits, “This is not only a group of talented players, but just a great bunch of kids who I believe are going to make a great foundation for the next four years. They all realize the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, and I feel these student athletes will help us make an impact in the American Mideast Conference next season.”

These ten recruits bring the Griffins baseball roster up to seventeen for next year, as baseball joins men's basketball, men's tennis, men's cross country and women's field hockey as brand new varsity athletic programs at Seton Hill for the 2003-04 academic year. These sports will be implemented in conjunction with the expansion of facilities at Seton Hill. The University is breaking ground this May on a brand new Sports and Recreation complex, with plans to add new baseball and soccer fields on campus in the future.
