GREENSBURG, PA- Seton Hill College is now offering scholarships to talented high school seniors interested in majoring in the Theatre Program of its Visual and Performing Arts Division. The scholarships carry awards of up to $4,000 distributed over four years. To compete for these scholarships, students must first apply and be admitted to the College. Then, for admittance to the Program, they must either perform an audition or present a portfolio for review and be interviewed by a member of the Theatre faculty. Auditions should last no longer than 3-5 minutes and consist of two pieces: a monologue from a full-length play; and a second monologue of a contrasting style or a song, dance or mime routine or a demonstration of another performance skill. Portfolios should contain drawings, elevations, renderings, notes, programs or photographs of the scenic, costume, make-up or lighting work done for high school or community theatre productions. Examples of other artwork are also welcome as requirements are flexible. The application for admission enables the student to be considered not only for the theatre scholarships, but for a variety of other scholarships available at Seton Hill College. To get more information and to schedule an audition or portfolio review, call the Office of Admissions, 1-800-826-6234 or 724-838-4255.
