GREENSBURG, PA- Seton Hill College announces a performance by the internationally acclaimed Guerilla Girls titled, “The Conscience of the Art World,” on Friday, February 8, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. in Lynch Auditorium on the College campus. The Guerrilla Girls, established in 1985, are a group of women artists, writers, performers and film makers who fight discrimination in the visual and performing arts using humor to convey information, provoke discussion and show that feminists can be funny. In 17 years, they have produced over 70 posters, printed projects and actions that expose sexism and racism in politics, the art world and the culture at large. The Guerrilla Girls have appeared worldwide at colleges and universities, museums and other institutions and have published two books: The Guerrilla Girls’ Bedside Companion to the History of Western Art and Confessions of the Guerrilla Girls.
