GREENSBURG, PA – Penn-Trafford’s Christopher Fawcett and Eric McKeever, the “dynamic duo” of WPIAL Boys Class AAA soccer, have both signed with Seton Hill University and will join the Griffins in fall 2003. McKeever, a forward, has thirty-seven career goals and 29 career assists, while Fawcett, a midfielder for the Penn-Trafford Warriors, has 31 career goals and 16 assists. In addition, Fawcett is the team captain, a four-year letterman, 3 year all section team, 2 year all-WPIAL and 2002 AAA section 1 co-player of the year while McKeever is a two – year letterman, 2 year all-section, 2 year all-WPIAL and has once been named MVP of the year.

“These two men will have an immediate impact on our program,” says Seton Hill men’s soccer coach and associate athletic director Dan McCarty. “They will add speed, skill and strengthen us offensively. Penn-Trafford has an excellent soccer program for both young men and women. Coach Patterline has prepared these players for the next level.”

Eric McKeever had this to say about the “Dynamic Duo” moniker, and playing for Seton Hill: “Chris and I work great together, sometimes it seems we can read each other’s minds. If another team tried to shut us one of us down, the other would strike. There was no way any team could keep either Chris or me from being an offensive target. We can strike from the ground or the air. I’m looking forward to playing for Seton Hill. It has the small school environment I was looking for, while giving me a chance to continue playing.”

Men’s soccer, the first men’s team to play at Seton Hill, finished its 2002 inaugural season as a club team 7-5-3. The Seton Hill soccer Griffins will play in the NAIA’s American Mideast Conference in 2003. “We’re proud of what our first-year, all freshmen team accomplished, and we’re looking forward to our first season in the AMC,” says McCarty. “It’ll be great having ‘the duo’ around for that – we know they’ll find the back of the net for us.”
