GREENSBURG, PA - The Seton Hill University men’s and women’s basketball teams will both square off against Malone College in the qualifying round of the American Mideast Conference Tournament on Tuesday February 22nd. Both contests will be played at Saint Vincent College, as Seton Hill’s new health and recreation complex is still two weeks from completion.

The men enter the AMC post-season as the number one seed from the North Division. The Griffins finished the regular season in second place in the North at 18-7 (10-4), behind St. Vincent College. The men will be making their second consecutive appearance in the AMC qualifying round after falling in the opening round to Ohio Dominican 66-57 last year. A first-round victory will guarantee the men a home contest in the second round against the winner of Geneva and Mt. Vernon Nazarene.

This will be the first time head coach Tony Morroco’s squad faces Malone College.

The Seton Hill women, under second-year head coach Scott Breegle, will be making their first post-season appearance since the 2000-2001 season, when they bowed out to Rio Grade in the opening round. After a four-year hiatus, the women will take their 20-10 overall record and 13-5 division mark into the qualifying round as the third seed from the AMC North. If the women advance, they will draw either St. Vincent or Shawnee State in round two at a site to be determined.

The Seton Hill women defeated Malone College 73-70 earlier this year in the only meeting between the two squads.

Tickets for both games will be available at the door. Adult tickets will sell for $5, students $3, and a two-game adult ticket for both games $7.

Tip-off for the women’s game is 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM for the men.
