Local students head cast and crew

Greensburg, PA – Seton Hill University Theatre is pleased to present The Laramie Project, a play by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project, from April 1 – 7, 2004. The Laramie Project is the result of interviews done with the townspeople of Laramie, Wyoming, in the years following the kidnapping and brutal beating death of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, who was tied to a fence and left to die in October, 1998. Seton Hill actors, portraying Tectonic Company members and the 60-plus Laramie residents interviewed, present a haunting and unforgettable theatrical piece. Never preaching, but always provocative, the play examines the crime and its aftermath as the town finds itself negotiating and adjusting the definitions of tolerance and acceptance. After its 2000 premiere, The Laramie Project was the second most produced play of the 2001-02 season (American Theatre Magazine), and was made into an HBO film, which aired in March 2002.
