Lloyd Gibson, D.Sc., director of the Master of Business Administration Program and assistant professor of business at Seton Hill University, will present at the International Council for Small Business World Conference in Seoul, Korea, June 21-24. The conference will be attended by over 600 scholars and practitioners from 45 countries.

Gibson and his wife, Regina Gibson, D.Sc., are the co-authors of the two papers they will present at the conference. The papers, “Chinese American Internet Banking Acceptance: Implications for Multicultural Marketing” and “Online Mentoring Acceptance by Women Entrepreneurs,” will be published in the conference proceedings.

“Through my participation in the 2009 International Council for Small Business World Conference, I hope to learn more about current theories and practices related to entrepreneurship and small business. Regina and I look forward to sharing our research related to multicultural marketing and female entrepreneurs,” said Gibson, of Pittsburgh, Pa.

According to the International Council for Small Business, the theme of the 2009 conference, “The Dynamism of Small Business: Theory, Practice, and Policy,” is set to explore the issues related to the dynamic life cycle of small and medium sized enterprises.

Gibson has 28 years of banking experience, including 14 years as the president and CEO of three different community banks. He has also worked as a senior credit officer, chief lending officer, and head of commercial lending. Gibson obtained both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree with a major in finance and public management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Gibson received his Doctor of Science in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University. He currently serves as a trustee on the board of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.
