GREENSBURG, PA - Lesley Stahl, co-editor of 60 Minutes and award-winning journalist, will give Seton Hill’s 2003 Lynch Lecture at the Palace Theatre on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 7:30 p.m.

Lesley Stahl has been co-editor of 60 Minutes since March 1991 and just began her first season as anchor of 48 Hours Investigates. Stahl recently made news by interviewing Al Gore when he announced that he wouldn’t be running for president in 2004. She made headlines last June with her interview of indicted terrorist Abdul Rahman Yasin, still wanted in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. Stahl has also interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon about the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and presented a report containing new information about notorious spy Robert Hanssen. Her interviews of Warren Buffett, Robert Rubin and Jack Welch about the economic prospects of America directly following the 9/11 attacks were quoted on the front pages of many newspapers.

Prior to joining 60 Minutes, Stahl served as CBS News White House correspondent during the Carter and Reagan presidencies and part of the term of George Bush. Her reports appeared frequently on the CBS Evening News, first with Walter Cronkite, then with Dan Rather, and on other CBS News broadcasts. Stahl’s experiences covering Washington for over 20 years became the subject of her book, “Reporting Live.”

Lesley Stahl will appear at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Seton Hill University American Perspective Lecture Series. Tickets to see Ms. Stahl are $40 for orchestra/loge seats and $30 for balcony seating, and are available through the Palace Theatre Box Office: 724-836-8000 or www.thepalacetheatre.org.
