GREENSBURG, PA – The Seton Hill University production of “Our Town,” directed by Denise Pullen, will open with a sold-out student matinee on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. in Reeves Theatre at Seton Hill. Set in 1901, Thornton Wilder’s beautifully evocative Pulitzer Prize-winning play has been admired as one of the best representations of life in America.

The following 18 students have been cast in the production: Matthew J. McDonough, son of John and Sue McDonough of Saint Mary’s, PA and sophomore musical theatre major has been cast in the role of Dr. Gibbs; Allison M. Weakland, daughter of John and Kathy Weakland of Canonsburg, PA and sophomore theatre technology and performance major has been cast in the role of Mrs. Webb; Kristen Secrist, daughter of Robin and Gerald Secrist of West Newton, PA and junior theatre performance major has been cast in the role of Mrs. Gibbs; Matt Colella, son of Judy Elston of Leechburg, PA and freshmen musical theatre and music education major has been cast in the roles of Joe Crowell and Sam; Ryan Burger, son of Jim and Jeanne Burger of Derry, PA and sophomore business major has been cast in the role of Howie Newsome; Shawn Howland, son of John and Marie Howland of Greensburg, PA and sophomore theatre performance and technology major has been cast in the role of Professor Willard, and will also serve as Foley Artist; Matthew Starry, son of Louis and Carol Starry of Latrobe, PA and sophomore theatre and management major has been cast in the role of Mr. Webb; Keith Gray, son of Roger Gray and Angela Engelke of Pasadena, MD and junior theatre performance major has been cast in the role of George Gibbs; Kelly Smogor, daughter of Robert Smogor of Derry, PA and sophomore theatre performance major has been cast in the role of Rebecca Gibbs and will also serve as Stage Manager; Sara Canter, daughter of Kathy and Jeff Canter of Fair Oaks, PA and junior music and theatre major has been cast in the role of Emily Webb; Adam Altman, son of Linda K. Altman of Latrobe, PA and junior theatre performance major has been cast in the role of Simon Stimson; Kelly Lee, daughter of Gayle Johnson and Paul Lee of Latrobe, PA and freshmen theatre and criminal sociology major has been cast in the role of Mrs. Soames; Caitlin M. Marietti, daughter of Robert and Christina Marietti of Lower Burrell, PA and freshman technical theatre major has been cast as Wally Webb and will also serve as Assistant Foley Artist; and Nate Newell, son of Pat and Kathie Newell of Havre, MT and senior musical theatre major will play the Stage Manager and various ensemble roles. Adrienne Fischer, daughter of Karen Fisher of Monroeville, PA and freshman theatre performance major will play a variety of ensemble roles, as will Jamie Williams, daughter of Rosemarie Williams of Aliquippa, PA and theatre major and Lauren Musselman, daughter of Susan and Larry Musselman of Apollo, PA and freshman theatre performance major.

Erin Rickabaugh, daughter of Ronnie and Linda Rickabaugh of Madison, AL and freshman music theatre major will serve as Assistant Stage manager.

“Our Town” will be presented at 8:00 p.m. on April 3, 4, 5; at 2:00 p.m on April 6; and at 10:30 a.m. April 1, 2, 4 in Reeves Theatre. (The 10:30 a.m. shows for students are sold out.)
