Diana K. Hoover, Ph.D., assistant professor of chemistry, was recognized by the Tussey Mountain School District Education Foundation of Saxton, Pa., as a Distinguished Alumna.

The Tussey Mountain School District Education Foundation inducted three alumni of the Tussey Mountain High School into the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. The criteria for the nominees included professional accomplishments, service to the community and potential to inspire students at Tussey Mountain High School.

Hoover, a 2001 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, had the opportunity to speak with students in their junior and senior years of high school. She shared her life experiences and offered words of encouragement to the students. Hoover emphasized the importance of keeping an open mind to opportunities, encouraging students to travel abroad, meet new people and expand their horizons.

At Seton Hill, Hoover teaches Chemical Principles, Biochemistry Laboratory, Instrumental Analysis, Advanced Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, Chemistry Seminar and Fundamentals of Criminalistics.

Hoover earned both her Doctor of Philosophy degree in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry with a concentration in forensic science from Edinboro University.
