The Seton Hill University community is deeply saddened by the tragic bus accident that occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning. The bus was carrying the Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse team to a NCAA-II match at Millersville University in Millersville, Pa.

At this time, Seton Hill University has learned that the University’s head women’s lacrosse coach, Kristina Quigley, died of injuries sustained in the crash. Quigley was pregnant, and her unborn baby boy died as a result of the crash as well. Quigley is survived by her husband, Glenn Quigley and young son, Gavin.

The Seton Hill community is mourning the loss of Kristina Quigley and her unborn son. The University extends deepest sympathy to Quigley’s husband and family.

Kristina Quigley had just begun her second season with the Seton Hill women’s lacrosse program. She led the Griffins to 11 victories in her first season. A Baltimore, Md. native, Quigley came to Seton Hill most recently from Erskine College in Due West, S.C., where she started the NCAA Division II program. Prior to that post, Quigley worked as the assistant lacrosse coach at Duquesne University, her alma mater.

Seton Hill University will offer a memorial Mass for Kristina Quigley and pray for the driver of the bus, who also died as a result of the crash, and for all those injured, on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in Saint Joseph Chapel on the University’s campus.
