Seton Hill University will host Brass Day on Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, located at 100 Harrison Avenue in Greensburg, Pa. The event is open to all middle school and high school students and there is no fee to attend. Registration is required. The three hour event will include individual master classes taught by each member of the Seton Hill University brass faculty, a panel discussion led by the faculty which will introduce students to the teaching and performance philosophies, performance by the Seton Hill University trumpet ensemble and faculty brass quartet and a brass performance by Seton Hill University faculty and students as well as Brass Day participants. Students will also have the opportunity to tour Seton Hill University’s new Performing Arts Center.

“Brass Day is an opportunity to introduce serious brass students from our region to performance opportunities and various pedagogical perspectives of our esteemed brass faculty,” said DiSanti.

Members of the Seton Hill University brass faculty include Theodore DiSanti, D.A., associate professor of music, trumpet; David Lintz, music instructor, horn; Kevin McManus, M.M., music instructor, trombone; and Mary Jo Fadden Zetts, M.A., music instructor, tuba and euphonium.
