Greensburg, Pa. – The Seton Hill Youth Honors Band will present a concert on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 7 p.m. in Cecilian Hall on Seton Hill University’s Greensburg, Pa. campus. Ted DiSanti, associate professor of music, will conduct the 80 member ensemble of local 6 - 8 grade instrumentalists. The program will include: “Seagate Overture,” “Washington Post March,” and “Three Renaissance Dances,” and is free and open to the public.

Seton Hill Youth Honors Band History

The Honors Band began 16 years ago as an honors band for students of local catholic schools. Participation in the Honors Band has since been opened to all students in the area. Associate professor of music Kathleen Campbell created the Honors Band just a few years after she founded the Westmoreland Symphonic Winds (the wind ensemble in residence at Seton Hill.) The Seton Hill Youth Honors Band has had a variety of guest conductors, with Ted DiSanti conducting for the last few years. Dr. DiSanti is a professor of music at Seton Hill, where he conducts the jazz band and teaches trumpet.

Seton Hill Youth Honors Band is a part of the Community Music Program at Seton Hill, where students can take private lessons and participate in Apprentice Chorus, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, and other ensembles.
