Seton Hill University’s Harlan Gallery will host “2 Artists, Multiple Views,” an exhibit of the landscape paintings of artists Ron Donoughe and Thomas Paquette from February 6 – March 3, 2005. The exhibit is free and open to the public. An opening reception and gallery talk with the artists is scheduled for Sunday, February 6 from 1 – 4 p.m. The reception is also free and open to the public. Harlan Gallery is located in Reeves Hall on Seton Hill’s Greensburg, Pa. campus, and is open during the hours of Monday – Thursday 5 – 8 p.m., Friday 12 – 3 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 4 p.m. “2 Artists, Multiple Views,” is supported in part by the PA Partners in the Arts. A native of Loretto, Pennsylvania now living in Pittsburgh, Ron Donoughe is best known for his spirited realistic landscape paintings. He has been a plein-aire artist for nearly twenty years. His works can be found in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States. Ron teaches painting at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, LaRoche College and at Touchstone Center for Crafts. His interest in traditional outdoor painting has led to the formation of a new group, The Plein-Air Painters of Western Pennsylvania.

Born in Minneapolis in 1958, Thomas Paquette studied art in college and was one of the first recipients of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts' fellowship-residency in Miami Beach, from 1989 to 1991. In 1991, Paquette moved to Portland, Maine, where he painted full time for a decade. While there he completed among other large commissions a seven- by thirty-two-foot canvas commissioned by the State of Minnesota, and four large canvases commissioned by the Federal Reserve Bank. The Georgia Museum of Art mounted a 70-painting survey exhibition Paquette's work in 2001, the same year he moved to Pennsylvania, establishing a studio in Warren. The Erie Art Museum then hosted an exhibition of his paintings in 2004. Outside of museums and galleries, since 1994 many of his paintings have been exhibited around the world at US Embassies in Athens, Chad, Phnom Penh, Riga, Rome, St. Petersburg, Santiago, Taipei, and Vienna.
