Seton Hill University is proud to present the “SHU Spring Opera Gala Concert: Great Moments in Opera.” The concert is free and open to the public, and will take place on Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. in Cecilian Hall on Seton Hill’s Greensburg, Pa. campus. “Great Moments in Opera” will feature scenes from a variety of operas, including “Otello” and “La Traviata” by Verdi, “La Boheme,” “Madame Butterfly,” and “Manon Lescaut” by Puccini, “The Magic Flute,” and “The Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart, and “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini.

Director of the Opera Workshop Program at Seton Hill is Katerina Musetti. Pianist is Adjunct Instructor of Music David Kasel. Performers are students in Seton Hill’s Opera Workshop Program.

The Opera Workshop at Seton Hill develops in the singer the interpretive and technical skills required in opera. These include dramatic interpretation of characters, staging, blocking, movement, and other elements of production. The workshop culminates in staged scenes and full productions of opera.
