Seton Hill University will host “This Way Up and On to Success” on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 5 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building. The event will provide students, especially seniors, with an opportunity to interact with approximately 20 Seton Hill alumni in fields that include medicine, advertising, psychology, business, graphic design, and human resources.

The evening’s program features alumni speakers who will address session topics that include financial management strategies, mentoring opportunities, and social networking. Alumni will also participate in an “Ask the Professionals” forum where students will have an opportunity to learn more about graduate school and career options.

Michelle P. Cunningham, Hopwood, Pa.—Michelle Cunningham currently serves as chief executive officer for Highlands Hospital in Connellsville, Pa. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Seton Hill in 1986, a Master of Science in clinical nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science degree in business administration from the California University of Pennsylvania.

Sandra Brown Davis, J.D., Jeannette, Pa.—Sandra Davis is an attorney-at-law and partner with DeBernardo, Antoniono, McCabe, Davis and DeDiana, PC in Greensburg, Pa. Her focus areas include family law, guardianship, probate, estate administration and wills. Davis was the first female attorney in Westmoreland County to receive the distinguished Martindale-Hubble AV rating along with receiving the same rating for being a sole family law practitioner. Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Seton Hill in 1969. She earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972 and the Juris Doctorate degree from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1981.

Frances T. DePaul, Ph.D., Jeannette, Pa.—Fran DePaul currently serves as a professor of business management at Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) in Youngwood, Pa. When DePaul accepted a position with WCCC 35 years ago, she was hired as the only faculty member with the rank of associate professor, and was the first of the faculty promoted by the WCCC Board of Trustees to professor. DePaul received a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hill University in 1958. She earned both a Master of Retailing degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Margaret A. DiVirgilio, CPA, Greensburg, Pa.—Margaret DiVirgilio is the general manager and treasurer for Concurrent Technologies Corporation. Her responsibilities include corporate wide policy development and overall implementation for administrative functions including such areas as finance, accounting, human resources, financial systems, and contracts and procurement. DiVirgilio received her Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Seton Hill in 1980 and earned her CPA from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

(Elizabeth) Lee Fogarty, Ph.D., Pittsburgh, Pa.—Lee Fogarty is a licensed psychologist and an executive coach. She currently works as a principal with the consulting firm Fourth River Associates in Pittsburgh, Pa. Fogarty earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Seton Hill in 1966 and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master’s degree in 1967. She earned her doctoral degree in counselor education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980. A native of New York, Fogarty provided mental health counseling to rescue workers during the September 11, 2001 tragedy through the American Red Cross.

Matthew J. Galando, Jeannette, Pa.—Matt Galando serves as a firmwide professional development coordinator for K&L Gates in Pittsburgh, Pa. Galando earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002 from Saint Vincent College and earned the Master of Business Administration degree from Seton Hill University in 2004.

Janice Grottenthaler Kenneson, D.O., Clarion, Pa.—Janice Kenneson is a physician with Marianne Family Practice Associates in Shippenville, Pa. Kenneson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Seton Hill in 1986. She earned the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Ohio University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991.

Susan Lesczynski, North Versailles, Pa.—Susan Lesczynski currently serves as asset manager and real estate broker of record for Walnut Capital Management—Walnut Capital Real Estate Services. Lesczynski’s work has garnered the attention of executives at High Noon Entertainment, which produces the Home and Garden TV and Fine Living Network real estate program, “What Do You Get for Your Money?” Lesczynski has appeared in five episodes and enjoys showcasing Pittsburgh properties to national audiences. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and entrepreneurship from Seton Hill University in 1995.

Barbara J. Martin, Canonsburg, Pa.—Barbara Martin serves as chief executive officer and founder of KMA Design, an environmental graphic design firm. KMA Design has a national client base that includes PNC Park, Universal Studios, Disney World, and Johns Hopkins University. Most recently, KMA acquired the signage system for the new Pittsburgh Penguins NHL arena scheduled to open in 2009. Martin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration on sculpture and three-dimensional form, from Seton Hill in 1980.

Deborah Dzombak McMahon, M.D., Pittsburgh, Pa.—Deborah McMahon is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, in the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Medicine. She serves as the clinical director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s HIV/AIDS Program and has a secondary appointment in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in the Graduate School of Public Health. She oversees the activities of the AIDS Clinical Research Unit, which conducts NIH-funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials as well as the HIV primary care unit. McMahon is the director of Pitt’s HIV Early Intervention Project, which provides testing and counseling services as well as primary care services to more than 1,150 HIV-infected men and women in western Pennsylvania. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Seton Hill in 1977 and earned her Medical Degree from Temple University in 1981.

Angela J. Merendino, Greensburg, Pa.—Angela Merendino started her own business, Angela Merendino Graphic Design Services, in 2003. As owner and manager, she provides customers with all aspects of graphic design and production for print and web projects as well as interactive solutions. Merendino earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Seton Hill in 1988.

Judith A. Mizikar, Greensburg, Pa.—Judith Mizikar owns and operates Just Miniature Scale, a full service dollhouse shop in Greensburg. Mizikar has had her work displayed in a variety of venues including the Westmoreland Museum of American Art and the Greensburg Library. She earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Seton Hill University in 1982.

Carl L. Neighbors, Connellsville, Pa.—Carl Neighbors currently serves as a master data technician for Allegheny Power in Greensburg, Pa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and marketing in 1998.

Vandye M. Nelson, CTS, Greensburg, Pa.—Vandye Nelson currently works for The Callos Companies, a full-service staffing agency, where she manages approximately 100 temporary employees at Classic Industries in Latrobe, Pa. Nelson earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on human resources and accounting from Seton Hill in 2004 and earned the designation “Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist” from the National Association of Personnel Services.

Justin D. Norris, Pittsburgh, Pa.—Justin Norris works for the University of Pittsburgh as the networking coordinator and strategic relationship capital specialist for the Office of Career Services and the Pitt Alumni Association. Norris graduated from Seton Hill in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

Charles O’Neill, Greensburg, Pa.—Chuck O’Neill serves as the purchasing coordinating for Seton Hill University. O’Neill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in information management from Seton Hill in 2000 and earned the Master of Business Administration degree from Seton Hill in 2005.

James W. Swankler, III, North Huntingdon, Pa.—Jim Swankler is self-employed as an independent contractor. Swankler works with non-profit organizations to enhance their business performance through the re-engineering of their core business processes. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and human resources from Seton Hill in 1998 and completed his master’s degree in leadership from Duquesne University.

Stephanie A. Turin, Greensburg, Pa.—Stephanie Turin is the director of social service at Mountainview Specialty Care Center in Greensburg. Turin also owns SRT Consulting. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Seton Hill in 1988 and earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1995.

Melissa A. Whiteman, North Huntingdon, Pa.—Melissa Whiteman currently works as a production manager for Apple Box Studios, a creative communications consultancy and production management firm located in Pittsburgh, Pa. Whiteman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Seton Hill in 2007.
