The Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau provided Seton Hill with the names of children who might not otherwise have had any presents to open on Christmas morning. The Bureau will distribute the gifts to the children, along with close to $250 worth of utility vouchers to the children’s parents made possible by cash donations also made by members of the SHU community. Vice president and Registrar Barbara Hinkle coordinated the project at Seton Hill, with the help of honorary elves Betty Cianciotto, Shari Mills, Connie Beckel, Eileen Moffa and Gloria Beavers. Seton Hill has been collaborating with the Children’s Bureau on this project for ten years. “For us,” Hinkle said, donning her elf hat for a photo, “it’s the best part of Christmas.”
