Requestors should work through CIT to ensure that technology-related hardware (telephones, computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment) and software specifications are compatible with campus service and support requirements, as well as being compatible with the requestors’ existing office equipment and software.

CIT will work with the SHU Purchasing Coordinator to obtain the best competitive pricing available.

Upon delivery, CIT is responsible for updating the University’s technology hardware and software asset inventory including the department and faculty, staff, or employee to which the these new assets are assigned.

CIT is also responsible for installing the new technology assets accordingto the requestors’ needs.

CIT coordinates local and maintenance contractor service for all University-purchased software, computers, and HP laser printers in classrooms and offices --- excluding multi-functional printers provided at various campus locations by Xerox, our Print/Copy Center contractor.

CIT also orders and replaces consumable supplies and paper for a select group of standardized HP laser and HP ink jet printers, upon the request of the department assigned to these University-purchased printers.
