The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh and Seton Hill University will host “Shaping U.S. National Security in a Globalized World,” a seminar of the Eisenhower Series College Program & the U.S. Army War College, on Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 9 – 11:45 a.m. in Lynch Hall on Seton Hill’s Greensburg, Pa. campus. The presentation is free and open to the public.

To date, 160 students and teachers from the Greater Latrobe High School, Hempfield Area High School, Franklin Regional High School, Blairsville High School and Connellsville High School will attend the presentation at Seton Hill. Members of the U.S. Army War College will address topics such as: In an increasingly globalized and interdependent world, what are the principal challenges to U.S. national security? How do we balance economics, diplomacy, and military strength in addressing these challenges? How are policies and strategies evolving in order for the U.S. and international community to deal effectively with security threats and to shape peace around the world? Members of the panel will also answer questions from the audience.

Scheduled to participate are: Col. Mike Hoadley, U.S. Army; Col. Joseph Frazier, U.S. Army; Lt. Col. Michael Jordan, U.S. Air Force; Lt. Col. Philip Skuta, U.S. Marine Corps. and Capt. Daniel Smith, U.S. Navy.
